I guess that is because more and more investors are moving away from value investing. Why I don't know. I am not a value investor myself, as I believe that on average the market has to be fairly valued, else arbitrage will fix it.

Irregular, pleasurable stimuli are powerful behavior modifiers. Markets go up, risk goes up -- but on aggregate level, more investors are likely to have had an experience investing or trading they want to repeat. Imagine the crowds in Vegas if the house paid out. -mb
