SCUR

Charly, every insider who wanted to get out is out. Every mistake that the Co. could have made has probably been made. The company was listed as one of the bottom 5 performers in a screen of Internet stocks that trade below their IPO price as of 6/3/99 in July 7th issue of FORTUNE. The stock WAS down 77% from its IPO price. SCUR has switched from firewalls to security consulting and come up a winner. A glance at the recent news releases is a good start to doing dd on this stock.

Chart is a beauty also. Short term target is 7.http://www.timely.com/t/timelypage?fc=25&fb=SKI&fd=0&fe=61&fh=1&fg=2&ff=3&fi=2&fj=200&fk=3&fl=10&fm=5&fn=50&fo=1&fp=0&fq=0&fa=scur&zz=SEND

Sergio

Charly!

Well how the heck are ya? I haven't heard from you since I threw GTNR your way back around $3. If that one's not keeping you too busy here, you might want to look into PAIR. It seems they are the only HDSL2 players that have anyone rolling out the technology...in the world. Or at least that's what a recent press release states:

Puerto Rico Telephone Selects PairGain Solution for World's First HDSL2 Deployment; Incumbent Carrier to Equip Public School System with HiGain Solitaire for Fast Internet Access

TUSTIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 26, 1999--PairGain(R) Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PAIR), a leader in DSL access systems, today announced the sale of its HiGain Solitaire(TM) HDSL2 solution to Puerto Rico Telephone (PRT), the only full service telecommunications provider in Puerto Rico.

PRT is the first incumbent carrier to undertake a major deployment of next generation HDSL2 technology and plans to use HiGain Solitaire throughout the island's public school system to give students and teachers high-speed Internet access.

By project's completion next year, approximately 1,500 schools in the Puerto Rico public school system will have high-speed access to the Internet, as well as voice, video and data connectivity. Thousands of elementary and high school students will benefit from the HiGain Solitaire implementation. The first phase of the PRT school project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

PRT also plans additional HDSL2 deployment using HiGain Solitaire for business customers around the island of Puerto Rico.

"We are honored that PRT chose PairGain's HDSL2 solution, and we're especially pleased that their application will provide advanced educational opportunities for the students of Puerto Rico," said Mike Pascoe, president and CEO of PairGain. "This is our first of many expected wins for PairGain in the HDSL2 arena."

Educational institutions across the world are eager to provide students with fast, yet affordable, access to the Internet, a contemporary learning tool. Often, fiber optic, coax and ISDN connections are either impractical or too expensive, while analog modems are extremely slow.

The HiGain Solitaire HDSL2 solution overcomes these obstacles by providing up to 24 high-speed access points for each single twisted-pair copper connection.

"Our objective was to satisfy our customers' demands for simultaneous multiuser Internet connectivity, efficiently and cost-effectively," said Joaquin Rivera, vice president of network engineering and technical planning for Puerto Rico Telephone.

"HiGain Solitaire satisfies all our requirements by enabling us to meet the needs of the public school system, while getting maximum performance from our copper infrastructure. It's a very cost-effective solution for commercial business, the school system and for PRT."

PairGain has been supplying transmission equipment to PRT for many years. Through the efforts of JAS Corporation, a local, San Juan-based reseller and systems integrator, PairGain maintains a premier presence in the PRT territory.

"Our delivery of HiGain Solitaire to Puerto Rico Telephone marks the industry's first shipment of production HDSL2 products," said Dennis Young, PairGain's executive vice president, GM Telco Systems.

"The combination of our established leadership in HDSL2 technology, expertise in optimized cost design and state-of-the-art manufacturing will guarantee PairGain's position as the industry's number one provider of HDSL2 solutions."

HiGain Solitaire & HDSL2

HiGain Solitaire is the industry's first practical implementation of HDSL2, delivering the same performance, reach and reliability of two-pair HDSL using just a single copper pair. In addition to providing full T1 capability over one pair, HiGain Solitaire guarantees interoperability with other vendors' standards-compliant HDSL2 products.

HiGain Solitaire is available in all central office and CPE form factors and is currently being deployed in more than 18 field trials.

HDSL2 is a standards-based transmission technology that provides full T1 rates of 1.544Mbps throughput over a single pair of copper telephone wires. It is the first such standardized technology for carriers, offering multivendor product interoperability for T1 and other high-speed service delivery.

The ball's just starting to roll...the chart is a classic MIMBO which I spotted a few weeks ago (not an easy concept to explain over the net but it projects a probable return to the alltime high).

Yikes, I better get back to the 56 thread and check out Sergio's suggestions.

Nice to see you're still around,
