Bombardier German unit to cut
1,100 jobs

BERLIN, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Canadian aerospace and
transport equipment maker Bombardier Inc. (BBD'A-T) plans
to cut around 1,100 jobs from next year at six of its German
DWA rolling stock subsidiary's plants, German union IG
Metall said on Wednesday.

Deutsche Waggonbau AG's (DWA) supervisory board
agreed on Wednesday to job reductions at its facilities in
Aachen, Ammendorf, Bautzen, Goerlitz, Niesky and
Vetschau, Germany's largest union said.

Workers' representatives on DWA's supervisory board had
accepted a plan for phased employment cutbacks because of
poor sales, the metal and engineering workers' union said.
