No visibility!! that is the problem. MC has taken the approach that no-one, absolutely no-one will be given any advance guidance. He wants EVERYONE to wait until earnings are reported. Therefore, we get downgrades and a ton of client letters telling clients to stay away from cpq (as I did) due to "uncertainty and absence of guidance and visibility". Investors also being told that cpq still "lacks articulated strategy". Analysts frustrated by MC's recent comments about cpq's focus. They don't understand what he's talking about. Consider the following statement by MC - "The world of personal computing is going through a huge transformation in the next year to year and a half. We want to remake the world," Capellas said. I submit that the world of personal computing has already been going through a huge transformation - for the last ten years. "We want to remake the world" What the hell does that mean? Vague statements like that accomplish nothing more than additional downgrades. During a conversation with my broker the other day he laughed and said respect for Capellas has dropped a notch or two recently due his vague and cryptic statements which are peppered with a lot of round words and motherhood. The general consensus is "cut the cr_p Capellas and tell us something meaningful we can bite our teeth into." I am now seriously wondering whether or not we will even see the 22.50 to 25 by year end which I previously posted as my opinion. My opinion is now revised downward to around 20 - 22.50. Thanks Capellas for the insightful, dynamic and revealing comments. I've got to go now and remake the world!
