lol- they sound fantastic. I suggested One hundred Years of Solitude and Orlando at all 3 of my bookgroups- no one liked either book. Too weird, too long, didn't make sense...etcetcetc. Yet I think Marquez' novels are some of the most wonderful I have ever read.

No accounting for tastes. Are you familiar with the work of Edward Gorey (drew the pictures for the lead in to public TV's Mystery)- I have two of his books and love them for their absolute perversity.
