RE <<<I see. So it's all right for AMD supporters like yourself to compare AMD to Intel all day, but it "burns your butt" when Intel supporters make the same comparisons.>>>

When have you seen me initiate a conversation about AMD vs intc where I try to compare the two? How often do I get in discussions on the intc thread with other intc posters? Intc is a competitor of AMD...I understand that part. That does not make for a good basis for comparison.....at least not in this case.

I am sorry you are p*ssed off but I think you, like many intc longs, are projecting; you make comparisons between AMD and intc and you think we are as well. Intc longs go on and on about how intc's profits and revs and execution is better. What basically concerns AMD longs is how the company's products are competing with intc's products.

They are two different issues coming from two very different places.
And its becoming clear that it is something that intc longs can't or won't see.

Ten,
I think we all know about process glitches, losing the MGZ war for all these years, stealth releases, insufficient chipset, RAM and motherboard support etc...
It's just interesting to see Intel experience the same thing...all due to falling behind in the MHz and performance.
Intel has circled the wagons and put a band-aid on the ole' P6 core...
Done a pretty fair job on paper too.
But they need a cheaper band-aid.
