I agree Barbara. Alot of hype and crying goes on here
and I too wonder why others don't just move on. If I miss
a big move, so be it, and other's will come along.

investing goes both wayz, one can still make money betting on a stock going the other way... namely a short. so in every aspect, they have a right to voice their opinion thinking money can be better made if you shorted this stock. you should sometimes pay heed to voices of the masses.

in @ $128 and $146.9375.
still holding on to 95% of original shares. letting the rest ride.

good luck to all.

I am reading this thread to become a better investor. I want to b standing when these stocks "go the other way". Once in a great while there is an intelligent post and it becomes interesting to read. Trading stock has become a buy hold and hope game and when i enter a trade I like to know that I am buying or selling for good reasons. I recognize and appreciate your reasons for hanging around this thread but i do feel that the euphoria that has made many investors pockets fat will be the cause for misery later.

RE: " I personally think this is a great company with a bright future and that although overpriced now, would be a good buy in the 125-150 range."

OK, but how much upside can this stock possibly have given its stratospheric multi-billion dollar market cap. Are you looking for this to double? Become a five bagger? A ten bagger?

People tend to think that any company with a high stock price is a great company and any company with a low stock price is a bad company. From what I can tell, this company has only really existed for less than 12 months...is it a bit early for them to be granted "great" status?

PS. I have no position either way in AKAM...just a voyeuristic fascination and utter jealousy that I don't have this stock at the IPO price and that I'm not one of the original VCs, founders or executives who got their stock even cheaper. :) ;)

Barbara,

I think there were a number of folks here that were interested in the IPO. However AKAM is trading at ridiculous prices and so what you're getting is that sentiment. Those of us that like what AKAM is attempting to do will buy but when it get's down to more reasonable levels..and well... $174 is still to high. After a bit more dd this pup is probably a $15-$20 stock...add in investor enthusiasm and you have a $50-$70 stock at best.

So, the informed investors are little tweeked that a what could have been a good long term play is valued at an insane price. This is dead money for five years at these prices.
