Statistically, they are in fact disadvantaged. More of them live close to the poverty line than any other age group above 25.

LT--You must be looking at a different kind of little old ladies than those I see quite often. Only a very few are financially secure. The vast majority live from Social Security check to the next one and must, sometimes do without, unless others come to their aid.
