I personally don't know if this had anything to do with the NT slide although it appears that this tidbit was sent out after the market closed whereas NT started to fall near the middle of the day. It will be silly if this one article moves NT any lower.

I went back and read some of the articles on Nexabit in the Red Herring and found this quote from Mukesh Chatter (then CEO of Nexabit) prior to the LU buyout:

"Citing forecasts from San Francisco research firm RHK that the core switch and router market will reach $5.4 billion by 2003, Mr. Chatter argues that "the one who's going to win this war is the one who will have core optical technology, core ATM technology, and core IP technology ... and the capability to integrate all of it."

Sounds to me like LU is building itself according to Chatter's vision.

The Red Herring also rumored that the NX64000 was in trials with Quest and ATT. I hope this announcement is the tip of the iceberg for this product.

Ken, As was mentioned earlier here in another post, the slide looks like it could be attributed to the NN decline. Brian
