Is the optimism too High? Sunday NYT's article suggests that "Chip Stampede may be hitting a wall".

The New York Times article says that AMAT with sales of $4 billion has a market value of 10 times that figure today. In previous cycles this ratio has rarely traded higher than 2 times sales.

Article goes on to cite many insiders are baling as sales are only rising 14% over last yr for chips. IBM and Inacom, box makers, have cited worries about 4th qtr. sales. Could the world become too awash in chips and are prices about to fall? Some are describing current evidence of insider selling as looking like a consensus..this from Bob Gabele, director of insider research at First Call/Thomson Financial.

Maybe we should be discussing the article a bit, is the cycle about to turn less positive soon?
