Looks like Nextel is going shopping. Recent secondary brought in $2.7 billion, todays private placement another $2 billion, plus existing $1.5 billion in cash equals a war chest of over $6 billion.

Nextel Communications sells $2 bln notes

NEW YORK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Nextel Communications Inc. issued $2.0 billion in notes in
the 144a private placement market via lead manager Goldman Sachs & Co, dealers said on
Friday.

Moody's Investors Service rates Nextel's long-term senior unsecured debt B1, and
Standard & Poor's rates the company's senior unsecured debt B-minus.
