Paul - " a year ago, AMD was at $ 23.125 - and today it is at $20 9/16, for a yearly return of MINUS 11%"

Another increase in AMD potential!!

If it ever gets back to 40 all the AMD longs will have to trim their positions, due to the "decrease" in potential. <g>

Paul and Joe,

Hey - a year ago, AMD was at $ 23.125 - and today it is at $20 9/16, for a yearly return of MINUS 11%

I wonder if Kevin considers MINUS 11% SPECTACULAR !

The way I look at it is that AMD plays under different rules from those companies that have to make it on their own. They are kind of like a college sports team that is supported by their alumni. This thread is full of AMD alumni.

Re: "I wonder if Kevin considers MINUS 11% SPECTACULAR !"

Paul, if you and Joe go back and put my statement in context you'll notice I was talking about year to date performance, not performance over the last 365 days.

As far as AMD is concerned, I expect it to be volatile and that's why it's a miniscule portion of my portfolio. I just fail to see why you're so excited about Intel when at best it's been an average performer lately.

If you want to brag and gloat and cary on about Intel's stock performance, you can expect that people will point out that MOST RECENTLY that performance has been LACKLUSTER, and there are no indications (especially based on the FLOPPERMINE stealth launch) that this is going to change in the near future.

Since I'm NOT bragging about AMD's stock performance, I don't need you to tell me it's been pathetic. I understand that, believe me. I just wish you'd understand that Intel hasn't been winning any awards for top performer lately, either. Get it straight.
