Allen, sounds like you work for a great company. I'll have to look up more information about it later on today. Just found this over on the WSJ news site. IOM has finally crossed the 30 Million Zip drives sold mark. But only 8 million sold since Jan. 1, 1999, down a bit from the 1 million drives sold per month seen in past years. Still very good news. Now if they would only bring out a Zip enhanced Sony Mavica camera! Now that would drive the tie ratio up a bit. Best regards, Mel

repost follows:

DJ Iomega Ships 30 Millionth Zip Drive

ROY, Utah (Dow Jones)--Iomega Corp. (IOM) said more than 30 million Zip 100-megabyte and 250MB drives have shipped worldwide since the product's 1995 launch.

In a press release Wednesday, the company said the figure includes more than 8 million units shipped since Jan. 1.

Iomega Corp. manufactures and markets computer drives and disks for data storage.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Epson has a new digital camera out - the Epson PhotoPC 850Z. I've had one for a week now and it is LOADS of fun.

I cannot express though how important I find the optical zoom lens. Sadly, the Agfa CL30 has no such lens. I also find the manual exposure controls invaluable. It offers the same control over images that 35mm SLR cameras have. The Agfa CL30 has no such features either. I would seriously think about returning any camera I had bought back to the store if it didn't have these features.

I highly recommend anyone shopping for a digital camera to look at the Epson PhotoPC 850Z. It is money well spent, and I don't even have any Buyer's Remorse- because the camera is loaded with more features to play around with than any other digital camera- period...so I never get bored with it!

The camera ships with an Epson brand 8MB compactflash card and I bought a Sandisk 48MB CF card for $109. These things are REALLY cool- so small and use little power at all. Rugged as hell. Anyway, I can fit about 90 pictures at "SuperFine" quality (the 850Z best quality mode) onto the 48MB CF card- really good. And downloading all 90 pictures via USB into my iMac or G3 only takes a couple of minutes. The quality of the pictures is outstanding- the colors are amazing from this camera.

here is a list of features of the Epsons 850Z:

2.1 megapixel CCD
3x optical zoom lens
compactflash type II slot (IBM Microdrive compatible)
USB
fully manual mode (shutter, aperature, exposure, ISO, focus)
flash hotshoe for external flashes
full 2" LCD screen
built-in motorized lens cap
Sun-assist LCD screen feature
sound recording/speaker
video out
comes with battery charger and 4 NimH rechargable batteries
lens adaptor for filters and lenses
neckstrap (you can wear the camera around your neck like a "Pro"
coupon for free pack of Epson Photo paper
looks really cool too
