I'M THE ONLY 1 ON GPM WHO NAILED GATA B/Sh*t as a political org. And I said it publically here first and am repeating it now for the late to the party and the newly enamoured with the pincher poster boy. Now read ystdy's Murph, where ole BM admits it in his VERY OWN WORDS!!!

I found support for that CORRECT ASSESSMENT and posted it here from Chris Powell's very first "mission statement" position paper plopped into the middle of this and the Dutch Bank Gold Selling SI thread while Murph was cowering in the corner ducking the hard questions from potential contributors through me.

Now, here you have it in Bill's very own words and I quote from today's perusal of le cafe:

OPEN QUOTE:
"As a result of Ken's [Reser]email, I thought it might be helpful to tell the Café and GATA a bit more about myself and the "raison d'etre" for my positioning and constant mention of "the enveloping horn" and "The Hannibal Cannibals." I look at GATA as a political party. One does not have to agree with the leader, his ways, or all of the party's tenets but, as a generalization, one supports a particular party for bigger picture purposes."

Listen up folks, I think it PRUDENT to try NOT to deduct GATA contribution as tax deductible. Do you know any other BLATANTLY OPEN POLITICAL PARTY who's contributions to same are deductible?

I believe if one scratches a little deeper, one would find the potential personal tax consequences/conflict in the languaging used to apply for and secure a tax exempt IRS letter GATA publically claims to have and the intent and use of the organization's "Chief Inspector" political public and clarifying admissions now. Especially if such prior application did not include current public utterances. More bush league "visionary" in evidence, tackling the gold world giants.

Besides, one hasn't lived until one has to recalc and refile taxes due to a tax exempt status being pulled AFTER one has taken the deductions on a previous year's 1040, trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrust me.

You all heard it hear first late last winter and now you are hearing it again. Those with ears let them hear. It is a simple matter to NOT take a deduction to which you think you might be due. It is totally something else to have to re-file after an exemption is reviewed by whomever and then potentially or in reality "yanked" not to speak of the personal time and cost to redo those taxes, find the correct forms, dig up the potentially additional taxes due and owing, the potential flagging for audit purposes, et al.

How does all this effect the price of gold? Well, after Gata's novelty wears off, and it is and will continue to do so, I suspect very little. But the bigger, closer to home issue is this: YOUR 1040!

0le haven't sent BILL a dime and won't either /49r
[I just went and figured out how to get gold cheaper ($20 per t/oz all day long) and figured out how to sell it for more than 5 times current prices and THAT is on a slow day, and besides kept my money and paid taxes on it without any fear of having to later recalc and refile.]
