FWIW, following is a recipe that has been in my family for three generations: Chocolate Cake 2 squares unsweetened chocolate 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1 cup flour 1 1/2 teasp. baking powder 2 eggs 1 teasp. vanilla Melt chocolate. Cream sugar and butter well. Add eggs. Add melted chocolate. Add flour, baking powder, milk, vanilla, and salt (optional). Square greased pan. Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes, or until done. Cool. Frosting made with cocoa, powdered sugar, butter, milk.
