Heinz,

In today's market technology that is not productivity enhancing goes bust faster than you can blink. (This, of course, excludes the pockets of monopoly - even that are slowly breaking up.) So, chances are that technology that survives will be productivity-enhancing. If that becomes a larger section of the economy, perhaps the average productivity will increase as well, as the US exports technology and imports low-tech goods, with a huge domestic service and agricultural sector immune to trade?
