Jim, Packard Bell has been a crippled duck for years. A typical Japanese run structured distribution based company. Their only hope was to go totally direct. With NEC as a partner they should have been able to be completely vertical in integration and have an even lower cost than Dell. Try and tell the Japanese that....they have to wait until something is dead and rotting before they admit it...soft of like a dead parrot sketch applied to a dead company. There is still room for them to go direct, but the will is gone and they have no-one to steer the ship who understands what it means to go direct. At least the employees will all be able to relocate in this economy with no problems.
