Heinz, it is about time to know that shorting US stocks is not a patriotic act and violators will be punished. Oh well cyclicals or gold may be.<ggg>

You can short shares of any other nations not US. <GG>

You buy puts only as a hedge to your long positions as the tax to the market makers that's it.<ggg>
