Tuesday Nortel Networks announced it would spend that amount to expand facilities for its optical networking and components businesses. Two years ago, it forked over about the same amount in cash and stock to buy a company called Broadband Networks. Broadband built and deployed wireless data networks and gave Nortel the opportunity to offer point-to-multipoint broadband wireless services. BVSN and JCDA still has legs :)N.C.
