I hope she is humiliated to have been caught in such a blatant fraud. ANd a teacher, too! It sounds as if she is going to claim to have spent it. She knew darn well when she got that first check, it was in error. And for her to NOT contact the agency about the amount was intentional fraud. To ask the bank, who can only verify the deposited amount, not the accuracy of the issued amount, was only to protect herself when she did spend it.
I find her actions morally appalling, if not legally wrong. It makes me sad and angry.
