John, it's quite simple: Europe is way behind the U.S. w/regards to technology. it's simply because the heavily over-regulated economies of Europe are not entrepreneur friendly, so innovation just isn't happening here. of course they're trying to hop on the internet IPO boom as well, that's easy money after all.

John, the US is far from being the only nation on the cutting edge of technology. Many important technology improvements are actually done overseas by non American engineers.

As the quality of scientific work done in the US measured as a ratio to GDP or average income is relative low if compared to other countries.

The junkies make you believe otherwise.
