Craig,
Hi!!!
RE: 3dconnections.com

First of all....Thanks and thanks in a big way....I'm not sure if I've ever read a better assessment of DELL from a long term perspective...Wonderful organization that perhaps you could mail to Dan Niles... :o) It's actually based on fact and not his slanted perception of doomsday...
I could add some to your wonderful work here.. but I'd have to give you all my "bibles"... :o) Once again...Thanks...

Cheatin' off the smart guys is the ONLY way to do it...The "job" of researching this company is so deep and involved...so many changing concepts..Also we have to deal with too many negative thinking analysts that attempt to cover the industry...scare tactics everywhere..so the small guy panics and abandons this great company....Through all our patience we must remember the words of management amidst all this negativity ....And, perhaps above all we should recall some history.... management "underestimates and then overachieves"....
:o)

Best, Kemble

Craig: GREAT post.....I actually have done very well in the last few months by investing in selective firms that DELL invests in....My best example is AGIL. I boarded the Agile Software train in the 50s and today it is surging up into the 130s.....This company is an important first mover in a major new category -- virtual supply chain optimization is HUGE and AGIL's alliance with Oracle is a BIG THING, IMO.

I still like DELL as a LONG TERM investment and my relatives still have large positions in this company. Yet, they are diversified into stocks like AOL, CSCO, EMC, INTC, MSFT, ORCL, SEBL, SYK, and WCOM. They have more holdings than I have since I tend to favor the focussed approach to investing -- bet on your best prospects BIG TIME <VBG>.....right now I am running with under 1/2 dozen positions.

Thanks again for sharing your ideas.

Best Regards,

Scott

Craig ... great post. If we can be patient and wait for the market to absorb that DELL is a leader in business to business e*commerce, not to mention retail internet commerce, it just may earn a better P/E multiple more reflective of its long term growth rate. Packard Bell drops out of the picture today ... 1 or 2 other major players may follow. That will only mean more DELL strength and margin firming. Oh yeah, one more minor detail ... DELL does not have any brackets around its reported net income like so many internet co's!
