Ref < Big Silicon & Dolly Parton> Thirty years ago, before Silicon Valley became a household word, most people could not distinguisgh between Silicon and Silicone. I would cringe when National TV broadcasters would refer to the Silicone Valley. Friends would snigger when I told them that I would be visiting Silicon Valley. When I told people that I was a Semiconductor Engineer, people assumed that I worked for the Railroad, and did the job of the Train Conductor and the Engineer! Silicon Engineer did not get much respect either.
