ATS, Since the earth had "the bronze age" and the "iron age", it stands to reason that the Egyptians were familiar with metals other than gold. They also used swords and lances, seemingly with metal blades and tips. I seem to have read, that their chariot wheels were reinforced by an iron ring around the wooden rim. Probably the only metal that has survived over the centuries since the Ancient Empire, was gold as it was preserved inside the pyramids. Just a comment. No argument. TD
