No Rest for the Nasdaq
Brown Bag Lunch
November 03, 1999
by Tish Williams

What in the heck is going on here? A perfect day for resting was wasted by the Dow and Nasdaq.
Nasdaq winners outnumbered losers 20-to-13, as tech's home court ran ahead another 49.38 points to
3,031.01 (1.66 percent). NYSE advancers narrowly edged out decliners and the Dow marched up
30.28 points to 10,612.12.

Upwardly Mobile: QualComm (QCOM: +20 1/16, 244 7/8) is an unabashed high-flyer, but
onlookers had to be a little taken aback by the wireless technology company's announcement of a
4-for-1 stock split, following up its quarterly earnings report.
