Bulldozer:

What do you attribute the recent weakness in PMCS stock. All other broadband IC players(e.g. VTSS, AMCC, GALT, BRCM) are doing very well except PMCS.

Thanks for your comments

Sean

nice lengthy article here on DSLAMs (DSL access multiplexers). for the uninitiated, PMCS dropped their first entry into the xDSL market back in june. dubbed the VORTEX OC-48 chip set, it's essentially a suite of chips based on versions of PMCS' SUNI chips for ATM User Network Interface designs, optimized for G.Lite aggregation.

according to ML, in the latest quarter, it registered nearly 20 design wins. longer term, this chip set has potential for third-gen digital wireless (e.g., 3G cellular-phone base stations) and other apps -- yet as that dusty modem on your shelf might tell you if it could do more than squawk, aggregating services are arriving much faster in the residential DSL market.
