Isn't that the slippery slope of exactly what we're talking about with the teacher and her retirement check? Her argument will be, Hey they screwed up, not me. Every man (or woman) for himself (herself). (trying to please all grammar fanatics) Please note I do not say that I wouldn't do the same... only that I think it can be argued on the MORAL level that it is WRONG to not pay regardless of the stupidity or poor fiscal policies of the other party. Does that really make getting something for nothing right? I don't know. I think TC did far more than most would do in a similar situation. (And I would expect no less from him-). I also bet he would have gone down to the store had it been owned by his fictional sweet, little old couple and MADE them take his money.
