I don't know, it was 80 degrees here in the midwest a few nights ago, and having shut down the aircon after we had dipped into the 30's, I had our windows wide open. -g-

I think the mob uses 22's for dinner guests and people that can be snuck up on easily. In a case like this where they might want to make the victims dance and therefore not be able to stick the gun behind the ear before pulling the trigger I would guess a 9mm (semi automatic of course) would be the tool of choice. There was mention of bullets being in the walls wasn't there? And they didn't release the total number of shots fired (it sounds like there could have been numerous misses) so I guess it is possible it could have been a full automatic machine pistol along the lines of an uzi.

Here's another idea to consider, maybe they were shooting a cowboy movie.
