Why do so many people at CNBC think that effort is a verb. It isn't. It is a noun.

I just heard Maria say "we are efforting ..."

Earlier I heard Bill Griffeth say "we are continuing to effort ..."

I've heard Tom Costello say "we are efforting ..."

There is no verb to effort. Get a clue, CNBC.
