I may be slammed for saying this here, KG$, but while QCOM is a wonderful investment, today may not be the best day to buy. If I were looking to get in, I'd wait for the few days prior to the Nov 16th FOMC meeting, as the market typically sells of a bit in anticipation of rate hike worries. Just my ever-so-humble opinion.

Why don't you wait until it hits 1000! :0)

KG, I have no idea where Q will be next week, but it will be at 400 by spring, on its way to 2000, (after split) in '05.

KG4: Jump in with an amount you're comfortable with. Hold some reserve to buy on big dips. Timing, and waiting only brings regret. Just some more friendly advise.

Q rocks, just a matter of time...

KG4

I never buy the price, I buy the situation and the story but I do so with half of what I intend to spend. If it goes up then I am pleased, if it pulls back I am just dollar cost averaging a stock that I have wanted all along. I just believe in taking a position if you desire a stock and working off of that position, thirds are a good way to do it also. Had to get my sisters to do this today.

I wouldn't blow the whole wad at once, buy some now, then watch it, sort term we could very well sell off with the Fed coming back into the picture. By not putting it all in at once, you will have money left to buy if it sells off. Long term Q will be 100 after it splits. I like to average up myself, almost never average down. I view averaging down as throwing good money after bad, but some stocks are worthy of averaging down and QCOM is one of those stocks.
