Probably just shouting into the wind, but the following was just e-mailed and it feels good to vent.

I was greatly disappointed upon treading an internet article released on Tyco International this November 3, 1999, as it failed to reflect the objective reporting I would expect from Reuters. Specifically, the last phrase of the following sentence:

"The company has repeatedly defended its accounting, and some analysts have been "positive" about its stock."

While it is technically true that "some" analysts have been "positive" about its stock, the use of the term suggests a significant division in the opinions of analysts. Nearly every, not merely "some", analyst is "very positive" on Tyco International.

Sincerely,

Tice said he was not short the stock in his fund at the time the article was published. He however was not as clear about the several other funds he is consultant for. No one will ever know unless the SEC investigates and we know that is not going to happen. The article was written to enable funds to short plain and simple. I just got swept up with the un-fairness of it all. He would have never said it if he didn't have something to gain. IMHO
