Tim, don't let this put any good thoughts toward me in your head but i'd like to talk stock a moment. Check a chart of DSP. It was 26-27ish when rumors first hit of it being bought. Target 33ish. Rumors pushed it to 29. That was for CNXT or MOT buying them. Then questions over them losing their CDMA license from QCOM if bought and rumors of poor earnings drove the stock down to 18. It came all the way back to the high 20's(after the little people got fleeced) then got taken out for $35 cash by Intel.
My point is, the better and stronger the rumor of a buyout, the higher the stock goes, but that doesn't increase the takeover price any. Once the deal is that far along the price the stock is trading at won't matter that much, the deals already set. What about your billboard company that got bought(OSI or something like that)? That one traded DOWN after the halt because the price was already known by the big guys and it was only the lil people told to look for a big premium that piled on late, and then bailed out. Same with AOL/NSCP, everyone was predicting a big premium, didn't happen. Everyone bailed out.
The better the rumour, the more widely known the takeover, the less the premium will be because the market has already priced much of it in. I'd say neither KNT or CS go for over 30 if it's anytime this year. I hope i'm wrong since many have waited a long time for these to happen expecting big premiums.
