Well if the elderly are truly needy then they shouldn't object to means testing, right? I have no problem with social programs for the poor. But imo social programs only for the elderly fosters the same prejudices that affirmative action does. Providing health insurance for every elderly person, and almost no health insurance for anybody else makes NO sense to me.
