I'm one of those people trying to hire people in multimedia gulch! lol. I don't like rent control either for the reasons you state. However, since we have property tax control then I think rent control is only fair. The real problem is on the peninsula where there is no rent control and no incentive for any homeowner to ever move. Since the people that work for me are generally young, they get hit all around. Multimedia gulch is major cool, though. Its hard not to love it there... I can see why everybody wants to relocate there. Man, Amianno really scored in that election, incredible for a write-in.... I don't live in SF, just work there from time to time...
