IceShark, Russian mobsters doing the favorite fuel tax scam. It appears you may be correct... A search for "Boris Vax" (or "Michael Vax") in the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel returned this item, which I didn't purchase... TWO MEN Published on 01/11/94, Article 1 of 1 found. (455 words) Two men accused of being members of a Russian emigre organized crime group have been arrested in Fort Lauderdale and charged with helping to evade $1.3 million in federal diesel fuel and gasoline taxes in Georgia and Florida. Yakov Litvak, 35, of Fort Lauderdale, and Paul Sharp, 34, of Pompano Beach, were charged in a seven-count indictment in Atlanta.
