Dave's point of caution is well founded. What many have asked for is "product" on the shelves. From that point the differing technologies can duke it out based on price, performance, stability, availability, patrons and enemies. If Rambus hits the stores in a few weeks, then it has to perform. If it does, and presumably after all this effort it will, then the attention turns to the existing challenger - PC133 and the eventual challenger, DDR. Expect even more noise, hype and fud on all sides than ever. But days like today allow one to take a deep breath and realize that, despite the statements by many, the reports of Rambus' death were greatly exaggerated.
