The fully diluted EPS accounting for these shares has always assumed they were converted and thus there is no dilution impact from conversion in any case.

Speaking of which, Cymer has bought back shares in the past, so it has some inventory from which to draw for any conversions that did occur (and a tidy profit they'd realize if so). I agree with you, however, that it's unlikely that many will convert, at least as long as the upside potential looks so strong. The notes mature in 2004, though, so note holders will have to convert by then.
