Cheeky -

Personally I don't believe anything posted on that site.

The site being "Scary" Gary North.

You're correct. Herr North has a magic touch for putting a negative spin on everything. But it's one heck of a clipping service.

Do note also that his site is only a smidge less popular that the Wall Street Journal Interactive. I find that quite amusing (in a twisted way) since it rather represents this whole Y2K thing... always polarized at the extremes. The WSJ has pretty much ignored Y2K until recently (they're even sloooooowly connecting these ERP/SAP snafus at Hershey Foods & Whirlpool with Y2K) & Scary Gary has been screaming "The End is Nigh" for several years.

Some people can see how North systematically twists stuff... I suspect many others are oblivious to his agenda... which is a very successful publishing activity simply peddling the coming end of the world for which there's always ample material & a steady, yet normally small, audience. Unfortunately this mostly harmless teeny tiny niche has expanded into the vacuum left by the abdication of supposedly responsible leadership.
