This is the second half of Dell's Europe head change and should enhance progress in both geographic market segments. I am always impressed with Dell's personnel choices. Notice that Mr. Malm has left a $10 billion GE division for a $2 billion Dell division.

ROUND ROCK, Texas (BUSINESS WIRE) - Goran Malm has been appointed senior vice president of Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:DELL) and president of Dell Asia-Pacific.
He will report to the Office of the Chairman and will be responsible for running Dell's operations in all countries in Asia-Pacific, including materials management for the region and Dell's manufacturing and customer service centers in Penang, Malaysia and Xiamen, China. He will initially be based in Singapore.
Dell's business in the Asia Pacific region is approaching $2 billion on an annualized basis and had a growth rate in excess of 50 percent in the latest fiscal quarter.
Malm, 52, brings to Dell more than 25 years' experience in executive and management positions, most recently as senior vice president, General Electric Co., and president of GE Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. He was responsible for GE's Asia-Pacific region encompassing 11 businesses with sales approaching $10 billion. In this role, he drove the execution of GE's global strategy throughout Asia-Pacific.
He joined GE in 1992 as president and CEO of GE Medical Systems Asia based in Tokyo expanding that business threefold in five years. Prior to joining GE, Malm was deputy group managing director of SKF, a Swedish multinational company and a world leader in automotive and industrial bearings.
