You are no more an expert on GATA than you are on BGO, Swift. Just because you are a CPA doesn't mean squat. Obviously you have never had to re-calc and pay back taxes on a tax exempt yanked not for profit for any of your clients or else you wouldn't be so cavalier. Sometimes I wonder if you are older than 21 when you utter such inexperienced drivel and sport your newly inked CPA exam passing cert on the wall of your cramped home office. YOU are no more a party to what BM stated on his tax exempt mission statement than I am. But, I categorically stand behind my strongest of strong suggestions that ANY contributor to GATA should think twice about claiming a charitable donation on this 1040 due to BM's claim to current tax exempt status. Such "exemptions" are NOT chiselled in stone, in perpetuity. NO WHERE on this or any other thread were his solicitations for money couched in terms of a PAC or any other politicized agenda/ae. Instead, I stand by my assertion that GADDAbouts has blown whichever way the wind turns without regard to his original mission statement persuant to his original tax exempt application. And until YOU can get YOUR hands on said application and can compare it to his current agendae, expenditures etc., which I doubt seriously you will be permitted to audit, frankly, I don't care how many initials are behind your name, can you state with any certainty that he is operating within his application's mission statement/declaration of purpose or whatever verbiage you can hear, upon which his not for profit application was approved. FURTHERMORE, you are no more an expert on what a political action definition by the IRS is, than you are an expert on what the IRS will audit and what they won't audit. It doesn't take much to get an audit started, up to and including allegations of fraud and some p'o'ed bigwhigg who keeps getting his corporate balls busted by some irritation gnat organization such as GATA. So, shut the hell up about things of which you know N-O-T-H-I-N-G! Experience in the re-doing of amended tax returns, never a pleasant experience for whatever reason let alone due to yanked tax exempt status, yet alone paying "professional CPA rates" for the unpleasant experience, is OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING OF WHICH YOU HAVE NO PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE. And since you can't audit his books, or possibly know what GATA's activities are except as YOU perceive them to be, you haven't a clue as to what they are doing with their money, politically or any other venue. Are you this lax with all charitable organizations you hear/learn about? DO YOU EVEN DO "CPA'ing" for any Not For Profits? I warrantee you do not know of which you speak with such certainty. There are holes in both your logic and experience big enough to drive a HumVee through and sideways, t'boot.<g> How lovely to run into you and your particular brand of long on talk/short on facts posts again. It has been too long since you made me laugh outloud? Ole prudent and to the point, I'm-a-far-better-analyst-than-you /49r
