What do you mean that they "sit on the price"? What's the difference between a common and a convertible position, and why would an investor switch? Wouldn't the stock _tend_ to follow the market?

I think that is a very far leap of logic to explain the current profit taking. The volume increase in the stock directly correlates to the additional float that became available after the FRO acquisition.
