Re:"In the more lucrative corporate market that is currently their strength, there might be some changes ahead. Dell simply does not have the technology to shape and evolve this market.Success of Dell in this market will have to come along side with Intel and Microsoft. If Intel and Microsoft lose this battle to Sun, IBM and oracle, Dell will also fall. "

SUNW will not be the victor in this market. SUNW does not
have the manufacturing prowess of DELL. They do not have the marketing or sales prowess. What they do have is
an edge in the internet server market due to their servers
which are older and more developed than INTC. When INTC gets its act together and gets to market with its 64 bit processor and its MP chipset. Then Sunw will begin to have a tough time.

The effort to launch centralized server administration of application software requires a telecommunication pipes that are 100 times better than the ones we currently have today for the general public. Thus the Network Computer being touted by Ellison and McNealy are basically niche products without intrinsic profit which will not in the near term materially displace any PC's. I can tell you that I would never let my business depend on Oracle or SUNW servers and pipes.

In addition, DELL's business model can be used to sell products other than PC's. It is so efficient that SUNW was lose its lunch trying to compete. Ultimately, SUNW will lose in the server and has already lost the desktop war.
It has been prospering because INTC underestimated the difficulty of launching a new 64 bit X86 processor, the associated bus chipsets and the software. INTC realized that more than a year ago and time is growing short for SUNW.
