QuentR: Not that you need my endorsement, but I would like to confirm that ever since you started reporting on Thompson I Watch on this thread you have been scrupulous in cautioning readers about the limits of its value and you have always qualified all your reports about it. I agree with you about IBD and most other TA tools. Reading chicken entrails would do just as well.

Some believers talk like a share price must necessarily do this or that. Fact is that TA can bark but the parade moves on. The most powerful determinant of a share price is an event.

Institutional holdings in COMPAQ or in the low 40's whereas they were in the mid 50's a few months ago: in the past they have been in the high 60's. When it does start moving there are lots of institutions which may need to add holdings to their portfolio.
