Victor - make a virtue out of a necessity. I can always count on you for that well-turned phrase to start my morning off right. I do agree that the stock would come back more quickly if the analysts were guided up. The lack of such guidance is not, however, and indication of downward guidance by omission. Rather, I see it as preserving some degrees of freedom around reorganization and marketing plans without the constraint of meeting some previous prediction. I would also think that some guidance should be provided - maybe by mid-month, when the quarter will be halfway done, and the trends should be more obvious. There are a number of events coming up - the just-announced "vista" launch on November 10, COMDEX the following week - which would make ideal venues for some positive statements. I hope they will do so.
