I never noticed the Prytania Theater. I'll bet it's further away from downtown than where I was. I was there off and on between 1977-1980, so it's possible we crossed paths. !?!?
Actually, it's unlikely. I'm not too sharp on the streets around there, but on Prytania we had the Harbor Light Lounge across the street. Right next to us was the boarding house where merchant seamen from Norway stayed. I was friends briefly with a gregarious fellow named Knut who lived there. He couldn't speak much English, but he knew the words to Born to Lose and would sing along when it came up on the jukebox. Used to break us up.

Other points of reference on St. Charles Ave. that were just around the corner from Felicity St. would be the C-Note Lounge, the Polka Dot, The Bamboo Lounge, and Dick's Bar. I'm sure you frequented better heeled establishments than these.

I revisited New Orleans in 1985 after I swore off hooch. Talk about a different perspective on things! I went with my then girlfriend-future wife and we went to Audobon Park, ate in nice restaurants, and went to art galleries. I suppose then we could have crossed paths.
