George, this doesn't sound like "marginal" lands to me (LOL). Also noticed that the Mauritania Government last week has officially recognized the independent State of Israel in the interest of World peace.
It is only the third Arabic nation to do so (Eygpt and I believe Jordan are the other two). This bodes well for building a friendship with Uncle Sam !!!
psst.....Diavik has been approved !

Thanks Bob, I was aware of Diavik, however thnks for the alert.
What I found interesting in your post however, and right now, I dont think is a stretch of imagination but just an observation. Since REX has tied the knot with Espreka (not sure of the spelling) also an Israeli exporter, the Mauritanian recognition may be a further extention of REXs finds in Mauritania, and could indicate the stage being set for Israeli participation and future ties with the Israeli and their cutting centers. I am slowly putting together the pieces of the puzzle, and as REX marketing has expanded, NY, Toyko, LA, I think I am comfortable in assuming that the linkage with Mauritania and Israel may offer another marketing vehicle for "Diamonds out of Mauritania" when it occurs. Something to think about, and thanks for noting the connection.
Regards
George
