I disagree Don, and time will tell. Many shorts have covered, no doubt. Look at the first two hours volume today. However, between now and Nov. 18 there is likely to be very little bad news and lots of "pump it up" good news. Comdex looks like a totally positive experience at this point. The Dell web page talks about "up to 116% improved memory performance with RDRAM" (right or wrong technically, it is catchy!).

I expect the stock to hover between 77 and 90 in the next week or two. Then a post-Comdex retrenchment (sell on the news) to the mid seventies. More gradual climb from there for the rest of the year. Frankly, I would be just as happy if this stock built some support along its climb. I don't see today's back-off as anything but positive.

But, I am the worst investor on the thread, so I'll probably be wrong. Again.

Don,
We haven't even released 820 and we have to come back to reality? Whose reality? Yes, it may be volatile, but the truth is with "Rambus Inside" marketing campaign and benefits in future releases that take full advantage of Rambus technology we haven't even begun to talk about reality.

i disagree, the delay imo caused holders to shoot first ie the dip to the 60's.if there is indeed a rollout as expected i see a concrete stream for growth.this issue was in question,it appears to be answered.this causes me to see a sustainable rise in the market value of rmbs.
i expect upgrades to follow the rollout saying much of the same, this will be the impetus for the continuation of outperformance, along with the actual increase in earnings.
of course there will always be bouts of profit taking...

Don, <Once that fuel is depleted, down it will go.>

Unless, of course, RMBS achieves orbit!

Seriously, I know what you are saying. Barrett's comments were enough for the current 24 point run we're enjoying right now. He didn't give a specific date, so maybe we'll see another small jump once a date is announced. After that, the anti-Rambus FUD could possibly return, and RMBS could fall back down to a more "rational" level.
