it tells you nothing about a person except about his vocabulary, basic algebra skills, and mostly about his skill at taking multiple choice tests.

Not at all. It is primarily a measure of reading comprehension, and a very good one. I work with kids preparing for the SAT, and I find it to be a fairly good measure of scholastic aptitude.

The SAT is only one factor for college admissions. One can get into college without great SAT scores. Further, one can lead the country and do other great things without even going to college.

BTW, The SAT's were recently revised so that a 1200 today is not as high as a 1200 10 years ago. The difference in the mean score is about 100 points.

(...Please note, I hate the SAT; it tells you nothing about a person except about his vocabulary, basic algebra skills, and mostly about his skill at taking multiple choice tests. I happen to be good at these three, but recognize that weakness in those areas doesn't preclude anyone from doing something useful, like leading the country...)

For that, you apparently need to know who Aslan Maskhadov is, among others, without consulting the internet.

For extra credit, why is a political television reporter like an out-of-control garbage truck?
