[OT] Landis has made a killing in the last couple years with CommICs -- PMCS, AMCC, VTSS, MMCN, MAKR, etc. For interested parties, MMCN lost more than %30 yesterday to close around 17-18, down from a high of 57 at the end of August. It has a Kleiner Perkins partner on the board and their biggest customer is CSCO. I bought a lot of paper at 17 3/8.

There have only been two explanations for the drops-- IBM (considered a minor customer) sold their networking business to CSCO, and CSCO has reported that their quarter may or may not disappoint (I think they said it's 'cloudy.') because of the y2k spending freeze. Take a look at the returns of PMCS, AMCC, and VTSS. They are not a secret anymore.

I'm not a big fan of TXCC after seeing their presentation at TeleCom'99 in Geneva.

Cheers-
