No nothing about AXTI. John, what is you take on WAVX these days? Looks like price and volume and are both going up.

John,

I'm staying mostly in cash until the market is less manic, more depressive.

Then I'll look for some screaming bargains. AXTI is one of the few tech stocks even close to that. If I had to buy something I would consider it, but I've been selling here, not buying. If the market continues higher I'll miss out on some gains. So be it, I've had a very good year. It would've been a great one if I'd just held my portfolio from January 1 (including KOPN).

I'm a little concerned that AXTI just bought the Lyte Optronics business in the second quarter, and now we hear about quality problems in the first full quarter. Maybe the problems are ongoing ones that somehow weren't detected when AXTI did their due diligence. The Ge wafer business with Hughes doesn't look like a high-growth niche, but that business was only about 3/22 of revenues before shipments were reduced. If growth stays strong in GaAs and InP wafers, higher revenues there will probably overwhelm the temporary glitch by some time next year.

I haven't had time to compare their VGF to other crystal growth methods.
